Hello everybody! Stamp Club will be starting in May and I will only take 1 or 2 more people for club so if you are interested, let me know asap so I can save your spot! This is one of the projects that my stamp club ladies will be enjoying in May! Isn't this ribbon flower just beautiful! If you where to buy these embellishments at a craft store you would be paying $4.00 to $5.00 for 2 of them, ouch! I'm going to show you how to make these flowers for almost pennies with products that you probably have on hand. And if you don't have the products on hand they are products that if you buy you could use over and over again for other projects too! Those are the type of projects that I like! When I saw this idea, I had to drop everything I was doing and try it right away! It's really fun and not hard at all!

I'm also going to have a special ribbon share for my club ladies, so they can make these in any color they want without having to buy every single roll of ribbon!

Hello! It's sunny today, it's so exciting. I spent a few minutes outside yesterday afternoon in my flower gardens. Picking up the leaves and dead flowers from last season and found many flowers starting to poke through the soil! Warm weather is really almost here! This weekend is supposed to be beautiful and I can't wait and I saw that early next week it may hit 70! And on my journey's today I actually saw GREEN grass. Can you tell I"m excited for spring to actually be here?
So in honor of spring and warm weather and the sun being out, I have a floral card for you to look at.
I used razzleberry and garden green with whisper white and a touch of soft suede for a couple of the flowers. I used my blender pens and ink pads to color in the flowers. This is a 3x6 card when it's folded. I used a 12x12 piece of cardstock for this card and cut it in 1/4's.

I used lots of rhinestones on this card to give it an extra special touch. Here is a close up of the coloring. I love the way the ferns came out. I used wild wasabi first as my lighter color and then came back and added touched of garden green to make it look more realistic.

This card is for a newer friend whose been a huge encouragement to me in the last couple of months and I wanted to let her know how much it's meant to me. All the flowers are "popped" up on dimensionals to give the card more interest.

Just a simple strip of razzleberry taffeta ribbon and a 1 1/2 of garden green cardstock and there you have it! I really enjoyed making this card. Coloring is one of my favorite things to do. I find it soothing.

Isn't this card just super cute? The green didn't photograph properly, this is more of a celery color and more vibrant then what shows up in this picture. This color combination is super fun and looks great in person.

This picture is a bit darker, but you can see the texture on the baja blue cardstock a little bit better! Do you see the 3 rhinestones on this card? There is one at the top of the birdcage as well as 2 on the sentiment. These really sparkle in person.

Today is the last day of sale-a-bration!

Well it's sad, but true. Sale-a-bration is coming to an end. So I wanted to show you one last stamp set that you could earn for free with a purchase of $50.00 or more! This one is actually out of the big Idea book & catalog. Did you know there is an entire list of stamp sets from the big catalog that you can get for free! It's the last page of the sale-a-bration catalog.
I've been using my color coach a lot lately and it's so much fun to see the color combinations that they put together for you. This color combination was baja breeze and not quite navy. I added crumb cake and champagne shimmer paint and baja glass glitter (from the spring mini catalog).

There are so many small details. Here you can see the little pearls that I've added to the sentiment. I also used a blender pen and my champagne shimmer paint to give the sentiment a little extra something. I also took some of the crumb cake seam binding and twirled and folded it all different directions until I liked the outcome of the ribbon.

Hello BABY! - sale-a-bration style

Happy SUNNY morning to you! Where I am the sun is bright and I'm loving it! Today I have a card to share that is actually a welcome baby card for a friend. My friend used this owl for her baby announcement so I thought I would use it for her congratulations card. This owl is part of one of our sale-a-bration stamp sets called "punch bunch". You can get this stamp set for FREE with a purchase of $50.00! This Thursday is the last day to place an order to qualify for free sale-a-bration products.

Designer paper was king on this card. I actually used 3 different dsp's! They where all from one of those level 1 paper packs (this one is from a few years ago).

Punches also ruled on this card. I used 5 different punches. I hate to cut things by hand, so whenever I can use my punches instead, I do!

Good morning to you! Last night I had a workshop with some of my favorite people. Our hostess had requested some projects geared toward children events that incoorperated owls into the projects! I think I successfully met her needs. I'll share those ideas with you in the next few days!
Today I have a card for you that uses the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I haven't played with this set in a LONG time and I"m not sure why, because I had a blast and it's easy to get a nice looking card, quickly with this set!
I made several cards with this stamp set and color combination as well as the same pieces of cardstock. The only thing I changed up, was the way I used the embellishments on the cards. I"m only going to share one of the cards with you though, because I'll be using the other cards for stamp club (which starts in April, so let me know if you would like to join us).
I would say that this card has a vintage look to it and it's hard to see in the photo, but it has tons of shimmer to it as well!

I used our pearls which I think every stamper should have a pack of these! It's a great way to add that extra touch to your card in such a simple way! I also used the seam binding in crumb cake from the spring occasions catalog and I have to tell you, when I purchased it I wasn't sure if I would like it, but this is another must have! and I would probably recommend this color first, because it goes with so many other colors!

Bright, Cheery thinking of you - Sale-a-bration style

Hello everybody!
Today I have a sample for you of one of our sale-a-bration stamp sets. This card is bright and cheery and perfect for what I'll be using it for. A dear friend of mine, is going through A LOT in her life right now and I just wanted to send her a cheerful, thinking of you! I think encouraging people when they are down is so important! I had a rough week last week and received 2 very thoughtful cards and let me tell you what a difference it makes when you know that someone is thinking of you!
This card uses a bunch of our sale-a-bration products! The designer paper is from the the ice cream parlor designer pack and I love it so much! The ribbon and button are also a package that you can earn for free with a $50.00 purchase before the end of March! Also the floral stamp is from our sale-a-bration stamp set "punch bunch" all the stamps in this set coordinate with our fantastic punches! This particular image matches with our circle scallop punch.

One of my favorite items that Stampin UP carries are our wonderful markers! I love that you can color right on a stamp with them and how they allow you to have more then 1 color on a stamped image to make it look more realistic. I also love that the markers come in all of our wonderful colors, so they match with our cardstock, inks, designer papers and all of our embellishments!

The color combination used on this card is: melon mambo, whisper white, daffodile delight

Birthday card class flyer made in MDS!

Hi ladies,
Today I wanted to show you, something that I made in My Digital Studio today. It took all of maybe 10 mins. I like to make up nice looking, colored flyers for my upcoming classes, so today I made one for my Birthday card class coming up on April 21st. Regionals yesterday! Birthday card class

Hello everybody! Long time no post! Friday a group of my demonstrators and I went to a Stampin Up regional event in Hartford CT and it was a blast! I came home with lots of new, fresh ideas to share with you. I have a stamp club starting very soon and you ladies are really in for a treat with all the new ideas that I came home with. I can't wait to share them with you! I'm super excited.

Migrain yesterday - Scrapbook page today!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I had a really bad migraine. To the point that I couldn't function at all! But I'm back today and I have a scrapbook page to share with you. This scrapbook page could be used for several different occasions. "A star is born" "Our super star" are a couple that come to mind. I used the large and small star punches and punched out different color and sized stars! I love how bright this layout is.

And here is a close up of a star that I made using our thick window sheets and our big shot and stars big shot die. I added a red corduroy brad to the center and a blue small star. I love that I can make my own embellishments that you would pay big bucks for in the craft store.

Another Christmas card

Happy Thurs............... oh I mean Wednesday. Man what a busy week and it's only Wed. I really thought it was Thursday with how busy it's been lately.
Today I'm going to share a Christmas card sample with you, that we did at a workshop last night. When I made the card I had our hostess in mind and when I told her that and then pulled out the card to show everyone, you wouldn't believe how excited she got. She loved it so much that this will be her Christmas card this year.
I chose non-traditional Christmas colors and I have to tell you I love these colors.
The other part about this card that I absolutely love (and if you know me, you know what I'm going to say) is that there is glitter all over this card. I love how it sparkles!
This picture does this card, NO justice.

I love the little hint of old olive with the ribbon. And I'm not sure if you can see it or not but I also added the self-adhesive rhinestones after the "merry". I wish you could all see this card in person to see how pretty it really is.

Another Baby Shower card

Today I have another baby card for you. Again this is probably not you're normal baby shower card. I used darker colors again for this one. I do think that the glitter in the turtles help to make it a bit softer though.

Pretty simple card, I used fox and friends stamp set. I really like this paticular stamp set. I used old olive and always artichoke together.
It's supposed to be a beautiful day today, I hope you get to get out and enjoy it.

2nd vintage ornament scrapbook page

Happy Saturday! The other day I showed you a scrapbook page I did with our decor stencils. Like I said the other day, I ended up doing a 2nd page to it (because that's just me, I like symmetry.).
So I thought I would share that with you today! So here is the 2nd page, very similar to the first.

Friends Never Fade

Good Friday morning to you! What a busy week it's been, how about you? Today I have a "friends" card for you. Do you have one of those really special friendships in you life? This card would fit perfectly. I really like the color combination of marina mist, crumb cake, whisper white and daffodil delight.

I really like the giant "scallops" I made using a circle punch and taping them next to each other. On the crumb cake card stock, I used versa mark to give it that tone on tone affect.

Happy Vetern's Day! and a Christmas scrapbook page

Hi Everyone,
Happy Veteran's day to you! I hope you've all had the opportunity to take a minute and really be thankful for all the men and women who have served our country or still are serving. I'm very thankful for them and their families for giving me the freedom that I have, even to the simple things like enjoy a hobby like stamping without anybody telling me it's forbidden. We truly are very blessed to live in the country we live in and that might not be the case without all of our soldiers.

Ok off of my soap box and onto the project of the day! A scrapbook page! I haven't scrapbooked for about a year! I love scrapbooking and when I was getting my scrapbook ready to go to a workshop tonight, I realized how much I missed doing it. So after I was done packing for the workshop, I decided to do a quick page and I have to say that I really love it!

I used chocolate chip, real red, baja blue and wild wasabi. I also used our ornament stencils from our decor elements line as well as the big shot for the words. If you look closely you can see that I also used our shimmer paint and one of the stencils on the chocolate chip card stock as well as on the baja and wasabi photo boarders. I'll probably make a matching page to go with it, because I'm not a huge fan of 1 page layouts. I need the symmetry of a 2 page layout! Crazy I know.
The best part is that I have a page already to go for this Christmas, so all I'll have to do is slap in some pictures!

Not your traditional baby card.

Happy Wednesday to you! I can't believe that it's already Wednesday. Yesterday was such a busy, fun, jammed packed day for me. But I am glad it's over too. I did art class yesterday at Kayla's school and those kids are so much fun. I love how the really get into their art projects. Unfortunately I can't show pictures on-line without parents permission so I can't share me fun with you. But I can share their projects, so maybe every once in a while I'll share with you.
Today I have a little bit of picking up to do around the house. I'm thinking dishes, a little laundry and a quick vacuum around the house. Then I have to make a baby shower card for this weekend.

So today I have a baby card to show you. This card is not your traditional baby card, let me explain. A friend of mine had a baby back in August ( I know, bad friend who is just getting to give her a gift). My friend's favorite color is purple. I didn't have any purple designer paper besides the new concord crush so I paired it with basic grey. So needless to say it's a lot darker then most baby cards would be, but I think she'll like it and that's what really matters.

I used the designer pack of paper that you can get as a level 1 hostess (only $150.00 in sales needed to qualify). I also used the new concord crush twill ribbon. I'm not sure if you can see them or not, but I also added 3 rhinestone jewels to the bottom right corner. I used the hippopotamus from pun fun. I think she's super cute. I colored her in with my blender pen and ink ( I think my blender pen was pretty dried out though, which makes the color not blend so well). I'm off to do my chores.

Traditional Christmas

I hope everybody is having a great day! Today I have a sample for you that we will be doing at a workshop on Thursday. They'll be making this card and a great little candy holder, using what else but the BIG SHOT!

On this card I used the new stamp set Contempo Christmas. I love how the ornament goes with our ornament punch.
I used cherry cobbler which I have to say is probably my new favorite red for Christmas cards. It's a nice deep red. I paired it with old olive, crumb cake and whisper white.

I added a stamped ornament and the sentiment "Christmas is love with all the trimmings".

Just believe - It's been a LOOONG time

Hey everybody, how are you? It's been quite awhile hasn't it! I had some things I went through, but I'm feeling much better and the stampin mojo is BACK double time so watch out!

Here is a card I made last night. I love how soft it looks! I added just a hint of glitter on the tips of the flowers can you see it? What do you think of the color combo? It's whisper white, crumb cake, baja breeze (so happy this color is back!) and just a hint of night of navy and pear pizzaz. This card will be available in my etsy store later today, along with some other fantastic cards including a Christmas card set! Go check them out. August Demonstrator Meeting Project

Today I have a project for you that we did at our Demonstrator downline meeting. Once a month I host a meeting for all my demonstrators who have signed up under me to become demonstrators. This month one of my downline Nikol, was in charge of the the make and take project! This is what she came up with! Isn't it great! She added texture, we used the lots of tags die's and Navy and daffodil delight is a great color combination. Nikol works great with our big background stamps! Her cards are always beautiful and she's been a demo now for just a few months and she's already rockin it out!

Christmas time with the greeting card kids

Ok I promise today will be the last day I post a card using the greeting card kids stamp set for a little while anyway. This one is the little Christmas girl pulling her sled with a tree in it. Such a precious image! Today I used my watercolor crayons and aqua painters to mix it up a bit. It gives her a softer look! I also used the greenhouse gala designer paper again. I didn't have any current Christmas paper yet, but look how nicely this greenhouse gala dsp lends it self to this card!
Do you love that paper flower embellishment in the top left hand corner? It was super easy to make! I added smooch spritz to it and shimmer paint to make it look vintage and antiqued!

This next one is a close up of the paper flower! If you where to buy these in the store you'd be paying $4 - $5 for a pack of 6 of them! I used a build - a - brad in the center with matching dsp from the bottom of the card.

Back to school - greeting card kids!

I have another greeting card kids card for you today! I'm enjoying this stamp set a lot! This time I used the school kids. They are so cute! I water colored them with my aqua painters and inks again, like I did on yesterday's card! I also used some of our new designer paper "greenhouse gala" I love this paper. Beautiful prints and colors!
Can you see a "peek" of the inside of the card? See how I used the same designer paper on the inside.

This last picture shows more of the detail of the water coloring!

I'm enjoying this stamp set so much, that you should be on the look out for an upcoming water coloring class!

Now I'm not much into Halloween but I had to have this stamp set and I think that this little "witch" is just super cute! I love to watercolor, I wouldn't say I'm great at it, but it's very relaxing for me. I used aqua painters and my stamp pads to color her in. I colored her dress, wild wasabi because the leaves where the same color and I didn't want to put to many extra colors into this project. After I finished watercoloring her I also add "highlights" with my white gel pen. It really gives that finishing touch to her. I also added glitter on the other side of her, which if I where to do this project again, I would not add the glitter. I think I liked it better without it. I used 3 different colored glitters, orange, green and black with my 2 way glue pen.
I'm not going to show you what project she's on, because I will be making a very similar project for hostess appreciation day and I want them to be surprised!

Hostess Apreciation Invitations!

Saturday I had the chance to do a little bit of stamping. I decided to do my invitations for hostess appreciation day! I haven't stamped in about 5 to 6 months so I didn't know how easily it would come back to me. But I'm super pleased with how this card came out! I used the big shot a lot on this project and the best part was that I could run 6 to 8 pieces of paper through the big shot at a time so it saved me having to run each individual piece of paper through, wow that would have taken forever! Hostess appreciation day is probably one of my favorite events (besides club, I love, love, love club!) Hostess appreciation day is for my hostess and club members from the past year! I like to spoil them with yummy food, great projects and lots and lots of prizes! The reason I do this is because without my hostess, I wouldn't have met all the wonderful customers that I have. If you would like to be invited to next years hostess appreciation day then either: host a workshop or join one of my stamp clubs!

Father's Day card

Happy Saturday to you! The weather is perfect here. Bright and sunny with a nice breeze, so that it doesn't seem as hot as it is out. We are scraping and painting the side of our garage today. YUCK! but thankfully the weather is nice and it's the side of the house that's out of the sun, so I am counting my blessings.
Today I have my husbands father day card to share with you. It's super simple, but gets the point across.

I used a stamp set from the summer mini catalog. The set is called Tropical Party. I think that pretty much sums up the entire stamp set with those 2 words! I also used matching designer paper from the Island Oasis pack. I stamped a coconut drink and cut it out and threw it up on a couple dimensionals. I quickly added a library clip (retiring by the end of June, get yours now before they run out!) and tied a piece of soft suede polka dotted ribbon around it. (Also retiring by the end of June).

It's fun to use letters as the focal point of a card. And what I love about alphabet stamps is that you never run out of the most important letters like you do with stickers and you can also make your letters in any color you want!

monkeying around

Today's sample is silly. We had a little boys birthday party a while back. He was turning 2!

We went and got him a gift and then I had to pick out a gift bag to put the gift in and when I saw this bag, I knew that I could recreate it onto a card no problem. So I made a very simple 3x3 gift card to match the bag.

I recreated the monkey out of Stampin Up punches. Various sized circles and ovals made the monkey. I used carmel, chocolate chip, white, black and ruby red cardstock.I drew in a mouth with my chocolate chip marker and that's pretty much it.

Baby Shower card #2

So yesterday I told you that I had 2 baby showers to go to on Mother's day. Well here is a card that I made for the 2nd baby shower. This was made for the great-grandma to be to give with her gift. I also made a card for my gift, but I forgot to take a picture of that card. I wanted to make this card extra special for the great -grandma. So this is what I came up with.

I tried to add all sorts of bells and whistles to this card and really go over the top. I really like the way this card came out. I used designer paper, buttons, ribbon, brads, and the big shot!

I used one of my favorite color combos for little boy cards; bashful blue, celery, and not quite navy. The boat is cut out and popped up on dimensionals. The scallop circle part is also up on dimensionals as well as the not quite navy striped designer paper layer is also up on dimensionals. Do you see my perfectly matched "thread" in my buttons? Yup that's tiny strips of cardstock to match the card! I also stamped a matching boat on the envelope.

Baby Shower card

Back in May I had 2 baby showers to go to, both on Mother's day! Can you believe it. I made it to 1 of the 2 showers. Here is the card for the shower that I did make it to.

This card is very similar to baby shower invites I did about a year ago. I love this little bear, so super cute. I used a piece of designer paper from one of the hostess 6x6 designer paper packs from a few years ago. I added 3 half back pearls which I feel really add to the card.

I used our chocolate satin ribbon. Love this ribbon. I think that pretty in pink, chocolate chip and whisper white makes a great color combination for baby girl projects.

I think if you click on the picture it should enlarge enough that you can see that I cut out the belly and nose of the bear and popped it up on dimensionals. I also used the scallop trim punch at the bottom of the card.

What a busy weekend!

Wow what a busy weened it was! We picked 2 flats of strawberries on Saturday. Made 4 batches of strawberry jam, de-stemmed, washed and froze 8 gallon bags of strawberries. Sunday was my nephews birthday and father's day and I had the opportunity to meet my great neice as well!
Today's card is my nephews birthday card! I got this idea from the new catalog! Wait till you see this catalog, it is truely amazing! If you aren't part of stamp club, believe me you are going to want to be this year! I have a stamp club starting in July. If your interested give me a call or email me.

Anyway as I was saying this card came right out of the new catalog. I just changed up the colors and the size of the card. I love how they used the party hats from the set party hearty as a banner. Super creative idea!

Lots of dimensionals where used on this project! I used them on each banner and behind the "....and many more!" part. I also used one behind the red candle!

I drew in the line for the banners. I think I would do something different next time! Maybe the hemp twine or somthing.

Can you believe that I didn't use my big shot or any designer paper on this card! Just stamps, ink and cardstock. Wow!

I thought I would share a few pictures of our strawberry picking weekend.

The girls had so much fun. They both where very helpful in their own way.

Here they where posing with their precious loot! We picked 25 pounds of strawberries!

And here is what all our hard work acomplished, 29 jars of jam!

Teacher appreciation gift!

Happy Sunday morning to you! Today I have a project to show you that I did way back for teacher appreciation week! I've done this project before at one of my hostess appreciation events, but I thought it would be the perfect gift to finish off teacher appreciation week. Kayla's teacher is simply amazing! We are going to miss her next year. For teacher appreciation week I gave her a little gift everyday. Luckily she LOVES Stampin Up and she makes a scrapbook for each of the kids in her class every year. So everyday I gave her a Stampin Up product as her gift. Then on the last day I gave her this card folder, filled with thank you cards.

This is what it looks like when it's open. You can put either 4 or 5 cards with envelopes in here. I managed to cram 7 in but it was a really tight fit and I don't recommend it.

Here is a side view so you can see how each card has it's own slot in the card folder. I used the traditional apple for teacher and some left over designer paper that i had laying around. This paper is one of our 6x6 hostess level 1 print packs from a few years ago.

Here is the what the cards looked like. Each card had different designer paper on the bottom, but this is the general look of each of them. I used a simple Thank you stamp and my apple from tart and tangy stamp set. My husband even helped me make this project! He's so good to me. He cut out all the layers of cardstock and scored all the cardstock for the card folder.

It's been a loooooooooong time!

Hi everyone, it's been quite a while sense I last posted. Had some things to take care of in my personal life, so blogging wasn't on the list for a while. But I'm back!
Today I have a card to show you that uses a new product from the summer mini catalog! Our smooch spritz! The smooch spritz is super easy and really fun to use and it adds so much to your project!
On this card I used it on my white layers of cardstock to give it a nice shimmer.
This card was a thank you card for Kayla's teacher this year. I had everybody in the class sign it. As you can probably see from the photo someone had dirty hands when they touched it! Oh well, what are you going to do!
I used the big shot to add texture to the card and I also used the lots of tags die for the focal point of the card. I love my big shot!

This is the first time I used my pendant park stamp set, and I have to tell you, I LOVE IT! I added a half back pearl and a small punched out flower. Both in white to give the card a bit of elegance.

I also did some paper piercing on the bottom of the tree, just for fun! If you click on the pictures you should be able to see close up, to see how shimmery the smooch spritz really is.

I used the thank you from the stamp set teeny tiny wishes! If you don't have this set, you really should. I use it all the time.

Friday's the last day!

Hi everyone, I've been taking a little hiatis from stamping for a few days. After 250 + cards in 3 days I needed a little break.

But I didn't want you to miss out so that's why I'm posting today.

Super Saturday Sketch

Good Saturday morning to you! Today I'm going to share my Super Saturday Sketch with you and I would love for you to play along. If you make a card or scrapbook page using this sketch send me an email with a pic and I'll post it here on my blog.
Today's sketch actually came from someone else's card. Renee is a super talented lady and I admire her work very much. I needed a card for a workshop I was doing. I fell in love with Renee's card so I changed it up just a little by leaving off all the sparkles and corduroy buttons, only because the group of ladies I was doing this project where all first timers so I didn't want to overwhelm them. They absolutely loved the card! And the colors went perfectly with the hostess' house, it was pretty neat.

Here is the card we did at the workshop.

I love this stamp set, I use it all the time! If you don't have upsy daisy, you really should!

Alright so let's see what you can do with the Super Saturday Sketch and remeber that this is just a starting point, you never know where it's going to take you.

April workshop project

I have a workshop tonight. This is 1 of the 2 projects that we will be doing. I think that this bookmark is really cute and it's pretty easy too! You could right a personal note on the back and then give this to someone special in your life. I think they would be super cute small gifts for friends.

I used cottage wall designer paper. I think this paper is so beautiful!

I used the circle scallop punch and the 1 3/8 circle punch. I thought using old olive for the circle scallop punch really brought out the green in the designer paper.

Look what you can do, just by using dimensionals on the scallop circle punch in the right places on the back you can hook the top of the bookmark over the top of your book!

Goodbye Mellow Moss, Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac - Hello Blissful Bride!

So for the next few weeks I am going to be featuring retiring colors. Why? Well because I can! And I'm going to miss some of these colors so I want to use them while I still can. Remember that if you want some of these retiring colors, order them soon so you don't miss out. Don't forget to get a matching ink refill and cardstock too!
So I'm saying goodbye to retiring colors and saying hello to a new stamp set that will be available next month! The stamp set is called blissful bride and it's a very sweet stamp set.
That's one of the benefits of being a Stampin Up demonstrator. I get to pre-order products before they are available to the general public. This is a very simple card, but you should see all the shimmer on it. I used the frost white shimmer paint on the centers of the flowers, on the scallops on the circle scallop and on the bottom boarder. I also used a new product called smooch spritz on the almost amethyst cardstock, it just sparkles. With this product you can now have shimmery paper in any color you want, jus by spraying it on your favorite colored cardstock!

I colored in the flowers with blender pens and my ink pads.

Wouldn't these make great wedding thank you's, a great birthday card, a thinking of you or get well card.

This next photo is blurry, but I wanted to show you how much shimmer really is on the card.

Big News from Stampin UP!

I am pleased and excited to announce that Stampin UP is doing a color renovation! The color renovation will take affect with the new catalog in July! So let's break this down a little bit. First Stampin Up is retiring 30 of their colors to make room for some exciting new ones!
So if you like or have any of the colors on the retiring list, I suggest that you get the ink pads, refills and cardstock before it retires. These products are usually first come first served and when they run out they are gone for good!

So get these colors before they are gone!

Next is our new color line. They will not be called color families anymore, they will be called color collections.

There will be 4 color collections with 10 colors in each collection.

Something very different for me.

Tonight is stamp club at my house and I've been wanting to show my club members how to make this card probably for over a year now, well this is when it seemed to finally fit in so this is one of the projects they will be doing tonight. Even though this is very much out of my comfort zone, it was fun to make. I could see these being perfect invitations to a summer party or the perfect birthday card for a friend who likes fruity drinks. I also made it into a pocket card, so they are getting double techniques on this card. I was also thinking of making it into a scratch & sniff card, but I figured this is going to take us long enough as it is.

When you pull on the library clip, this is what comes out!

And here is the card with the pull out side by side.

I just realized that this card is missing it's umbrella and straw in the picture. How did I miss that. So just imagine one of those drink umbrellas and a straw in the cup.

I like how you can see the limes, floating in the cup.

Change the color of the cup to yellow and you could have lemonad, green and you have a margerita, white and you have milk and you could add an oreo next to it.

So that's my idea for today!

My entry for the Super Saturday sketch challenge

Hi everybody. The weather here today has turned beautiful! It's so sunny out and it's warmed up nicely, but the wind is making it seem cooler then it really is.
I'm going to share with you today,what I cam up with using my Super Saturday sketch challenge from yesterday. Now remember that the sketch is just a place for you to start. My card I changed the placement of the circle & scallop circle, because I used bigger circles and they didn't look right off to the side like the sketch implied.
The colors of this card are nice and springy (I know that's not really a word, but I've been know to make up words on occasion).

The flowers where done with the watercolor crayons, directly to the stamp.

The background is stamped with the pretty petals background stamp with versamark. I used the big shot to make the circle and the scallop circle. I love my big shot!

I added some ribbon, brads and some designer paper and called it done!

April Awards for my downline

Today I have a super migrain. So I had to pull something off my computer to show you. No creative juices when my head is screaming! So I thought I would show you the prizes my downline (demonstrators who have signed up under me) received at our meeting on Monday.
This first one was for one of my downline who recruited a new downline in March, so I made this bag for her. Isn't that designer paper beautiful? I stamped and punched "way to go" and wrote a personal note on the back just for her. Inside the bag was a package of sweet pea stitched felt.

And here is what the back looked like. Just like the front,just with no tag.

These other gift bags where for our new demonstrators who signed up in March. I love these bags. I always keep a bunch of these on hand. All you have to do is add a tag and your ready to go!

In these bags where: 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamond glitter and adhesive remover.

So those are my samples for today, maybe they'll give you some ideas of quick gift giving packaging.

Tomorrow is tax day for me, so I'll be focusing on that tonight and tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary cards!

Happy Thursday to all of you! Today I'm going to share an anniversary card with you. I had my monthly downline meeting this past Monday and one of the things we got to celebrate was anniversaries this month. We had 3 of them to celebrate! So each of the women received this card for their anniversary of when they signed up to become a Stampin Up demonstrator! I did postcard style cards. I think it's a nice change sometimes from a full card. If I where going to mail these, I still would put them in an envelope. They would never actually make it to the person in one piece if you mailed them like a postcard.
So the one's that I'm showing you today are anniversary cards, but I also made up a bunch of these that say thank you instead of anniversary. I love when I come up with a great card and then I can just switch out the sentiment and use it for a totally different occasion.

As you can see I used my Super Saturday sketch for this card. I had this card done last week and the funny thing is Lucia, who has participated pretty freaquently in my sketch and color combination challenges did a card extreamly similar. It's so funny how 2 people can come up with an idea so close to each other.

Really the only differences is that Lucia flipped the sketch and used a different ribbon and a different punch for the leaves and her pansies are darker in color. Great card Lucia, thanks for playing along.

Same tag, different project! & Only 2 days left!

So today I'm going to show you how else you can use the tag that I made yesterday. Ready,,,,,,,,,,,,
I added it to a card and made it part of the focal point of the card. Pretty cool, right? I wanted to add a layer of white behind my "tag" but alas my handcutting in not great and it looked pretty bad, so I decided against it.

Today I will be sharing a project with you that uses the same stamp as yesterday! I wanted to make some tags to put on the gifts for the girls easter presents and this is what I came up with.

Angela's helpful hints:

-Pick a designer paper that you want to work with and then pull your color combination out of their.

-To make this tag I ran my mellow moss cardstock through the big shot die and then flipped it 90 degrees and ran it through again. What a great way to use the die in a different way!

-The sweet pea designer paper pack is perfect for a vast variety of occasions.

-running your cardstock through an impression folder in the big shot is a great way to add texture to your card and give it that extra special touch.

Happy Easter bunny

So last night, I wasn't feeling well at all (with the sick kids and all), you can read the previous post to find out all about that. I had a really bad headache, so I took some excedrine migrain (LOVE THIS STUFF) and had a cup of coffee and you wouldn't believe how much better I felt. It was crazy. So when I got home from a school meeting, I was wired and ready to go, so I made some time for stamping. I know this is going to sound crazy, but I had to make and easy card to get back in the swing of things. It's been about 2 weeks sense I stamped last. So this card is very simple, but I stamped that's the most important part!
I got this stamp set (forest friends) for FREE. Did you know this is one of the many stamps sets that you can get for free, during sale-a-bration? I saw something really cute done with this stamp set, so I had to have it! Well when I got it the first thing I thought of was EASTER BUNNY, so I made this very simple easter card.

This card is a 3X6 card. I used a strip of designer paper from the good neighbors 6x6 designer pack (also free during sale-a-bration with a $50.00 order).

I stamped my bunny in chocolate chip, punched him out with my 1 3/8 circle punch. Added a circle scallop mellow moss cardstock behind it and popped it up on dimensionals. Added a strip of pretty in pink taffetta ribbon, stamped "happy eastser" from the well scripted stamp set and called it a night!

Happy sunny Tuesday to you! I'm so excited because the rest of the week is going to be BEAUTIFUL. Sunny and high 50's low 60's. I'm so excited I could scream!
Today I have some wedding samples for you. I met with a bride & groom last night to discuss their wedding invitations and they said yes! They've decided on an invitation and I'm ready to start making 200 invitations for them! The supplies are ordered and I should receive them by the end of next week.
For privacy reasons, I had my downline Laura blur out the bride & grooms private information (thanks Laura). I thought I had photoshop, but I don't on this computer.
This is the invitatioin they picked. Needless to say their wedding is a fall wedding.

Color challenge # 4

Good morning everybody! How was your weekend? We enjoyed a great Sunday together as a family. It's the one day that we set aside to do only family things.

Today I have another color challenge for you. Please feel free to play along. Send me an email with a picture of your project using my color challenge and I'll post it here on my blog.

Color challenge #4 :

So saffron, Mellow moss, Chocolate chip, Whisper white

Here is the card I made last night for this color challenge. I was making it between watching desprate housewives. The card came together very quickly. I would say if I just sat down and mad ethe card all at one time it probably would have been an 8 min. card tops!

This would make a great masculine or female card. I used the stamp set four square, (did you know that this is one of the many stamp sets that you can get for free when you make a purchase of $50.00 or more during sale-a-bration! Hurry sale-a-bration ends at the end of this month!)

I softened the edges of the mellow moss cardstock and the designer paper with a sponge and my chocolate chip ink pad.

I used my 1 1/4 inch square punch and the square scallop punch for the focal point of the card. I stamped my image on mellow moss cardstock with chocolate chip ink. That's really stepping out of my comfort zone. I like to stamp my focal point onto neutral cardstock, but I really love the way this came out.

Super Sketch Saturday

Today my wonderful downline are getting their first SUPER SATURDAY SKETCH on our downline site!
I hope that they get the chance to play along. Seeing that this is our first saturday sketch I figured I'd keep it kind of simple. So I would love to have some of you play along as well. Anybody who does my super saturday sketch will get it posted here on my site, for everybody to see. The idea of a sketch is to give you a starting point and then you can take it where ever you want to fromt there. I needed a few thank you notes for some of my recent hostess so I thought I would put the Super Saturday Sketch to use and make some thank you's. The first one is kind of plain and then I sat there and looked at it and said hmmmm it needs something, but what is it? And then I figured it out. I added some dry embossing, by using an embossing folder and my big shot and it really added all the difference in the world to the card. I also moved the ribbon and the main image up just a little bit.

Thankful Thursday on Friday!

On my downline site, Thursday's is Thankful Thursday. I ask them to tell us all something that they are thankful for and to make a thank you card and send it out to someone that they are thankful for. So yesterday during thankful thursday I made up a bunch of tags for my workshop and customer orders and I made up a bunch of gifts for my stamp club members. I love my stamp club, they are a lot of fun and I just want to let them know how thankful for them I am.
So I made up these paperclip bookmarks for my club members. These will go in with their orders when the order shows up next week. All I did was use my big shot machine to die cut the top note die and then used my word window punch to make the opening for the bookmark. I used one of the thank you stamps from the stamp set Thank you kindly. (did you know that this is one of the many stamp sets that you can earn for free with a $50.00 order through the end of the month!)
On the back of the top note die I wrote a personal note to each of my club members and each note is different.

And then I made a whole bunch of these super cute very thankful turtles tags. These will get tied on all my wokshop orders with a small note on the back. (did you know that this stamp set is also one that you can get for free when you place a $50.00 and the great thing about this stamp set is that it's our Ronald McDonald house charities stamp set this year, which means that $2.00 for every set sold or earned for free will go to the ronald mcdonald charity.

Sse what I did with my riboon flower

A few days ago, I showed you how to make a ribbon flower with our 1 1/4 striped ribbon, so today I wanted to show you what I did with it. Now before I show you the picture, I just want to say that I really dislike having my picture taken and this one is especially horrible, but my husband ( I love him dearly) is not the person to ask to take a picture of you. So don't look at me, just look at the flower.

Isn't it reallly neat as a pin. I think I'm going to make one into a hair tie for Kayla. I think it would be super cute in her hair. If I make one I'll post a picture of it.

Happy sunny Sunday!

Oh my goodness, it is so beautiful out this morning! The sun is shining brightly and it's supposed to get into the high 40's maybe 50's today. We are off to spend the day as a family, but I thought I would do a quick post before we go.
Today I have a sympathy card to show you. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again, but I don't like to make sympathy cards, they are very hard for me to do. And this one happend to be for a guy that my husband works with. Guy sympathy cards are even harder, you don't want it to be to fancy and not to cheery and you want to make sure that you have just the right words on it.
When I went to make the card last night I realized that I don't have much for masculine designer paper. Luckily I pulled out my sweet pea designer paper pack, that pack has everything in it, masculine & feminine papers.
I picked a designer paper (okayed it through my husband) and then pulled my other colors for the card out of that piece of designer paper.
I used chocolate chip, so saffron, whisper white & mellow moss. This is a color combination that I have never tried before, but it makes really great masculine cards. I'll have to use this color combo again.

Because this is for a man I really wanted to give it clean simple lines, nothing to fancy.

The thoughts & prayers stamp set is really perfect for Get well cards, Thinking of you cards & Sympathy cards.

I added a strip of designer paper to the inside too and added one of the sentiments from thoughts & prayers stamp set. I've actually never paid much attention to this saying before, but it's such a nice saying, perfect for this card.

Alright, that's it for today. I"m off to spend the day with my kids & husband! We have some really fun plans for the day.

March workshop project!

Today I have my non-card project to show you. This is what I will be doing at my workshop tonight. It is 2 peppermint patties dressed up and put in a cellophane bag and finished off with a very simple bag topped that was cut out with the big shot and embossed with the big shot! Cute, easy and quick the best type of project!

I'm glad spring is almost here. It means that I can start pulling out these pastel colors again.

Angela's helpful hints:

- using the circle scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle & 1 inch punch these peppermint patty holders come together in a snap. The 1 inch circle punch is perfectly sized to punch out this super cute bunny from the eggcoutrements stamp set.

-The eggcoutrements stamp set is made to match a varitety of our punches! I love when Stampin up does that for us.

-The big shot and top note die makes a perfect bag topper. Did you know that folded in half the way I have the top note die it fits the med sized cello bags and folded in half the other way the top note die fits perfectly on the small size cello bags

-These would be perfect gifts for school mates, friends at your office or anybody who just needs a quick pick me up.

It's beautiful & sunny today and we didn't get any snow last night so that makes me a very happy girl!
Today I have a sneak peek of one of the projects that stamp club will be doing on Monday. If you are interested in checking out club come join us. Visiting club is a great way to see if it is something your would be interested in joining. I have a new club starting in June so this is a great time to "try before you buy" so to speak. Non club members are welcome to come for a $5.00 supply fee. But if you make a purchase of $25.00 or more then your supply fee is waived! Ribbon flower tutorial today!

Good morning everybody! I hope your day is off to a great start. Today I have a tutorial for you today on how to make a ribbon flower. They are super easy to do and the results are just stunning.

Step 1: Pick your ribbon (I've used our 1 1/4 inch striped ribbon here). With a needle and thread stitch all the way down one side of your ribbon, using an in and out stitch. Make sure the end that you started stitching on is knotted!

Step 2: Gently start pulling the thread. Start at the end still attached to the needle. Pull until it is as tight as it can go. It will start to form the flower shape all on it's own.

Step 3: Fold over both ends of the ribbon so that the ends of the ribbon are on the back of the flower. Add a couple stitches on the back of the flower to keep the 2 ends together.

Step 4: You can leave the flower just like this or add a brad or button to the center of the flower.

These flowers are beautiful on cards or scrapbook pages, but they would also make beautiful hair ties for little girls, or I would add a pin back to it and use it as a pin.

I've offered this ribbon share before, but I will offer it again for the rest of the month for anybody who did not get to take advantage of it.

Busy, Busy week! and a weekend promotion!

Sale-a-bration overflow

This card has a LOT of sale-a-bration products in it to say the least! This is a card that I am doing for an upcoming workshop. I wanted to keep it simple for the new stampers in the group. I actually really like this card a lot and it came together pretty quickly.

Here is a close up. Can you see the shimmer paint used to highlight the flowers?

I used a blender pen and our champagne mist. I do suggest marking your blender pen and only using it for shimmer paint after your first use. The reason for this is that the shimmer paint won't ever truely come out of the blender pen. I think if you click on the picture you'll be able to see the shimmer paint detail.

Birthday Bliss boy card

I'm not crafty today! I tried, it wasn't happening! I was trying to do some coloring and it just wasn't working, my hands are much to shaky today and the markers that I was trying to use, need to be replaced. The tips where pretty bad.
I did come up with this card. This card, even though it is very simple, was very hard for me to do. For one the color combination is not one that I would normally use so it took a lot for me to use these colors. I also have been wanting to try out this technique called faux dry embossing and every time I do it I'm just not pleased with it, so it turned out ok on this card. Basically faux dry embossing is when you used punched out shapes and tape them on your card in the same color cardstock so that it looks like those shapes are "raised up" just like dry embossing would do to a card.
This is a stamp set from the idea book & catalog that I got for free! Did you know that this year during sale-a-bration there is a whole list of stamp sets from the catalog that you can choose for your free options. How cool is that! Stampin Up is so nice to us.

Did you notice that I used the new XL fancy flower punch from the spring occasion catalog. I love how the 13/8 & 1 1/4 circle punches fit nicely inside of it!

I also used the new perfect polka dot impressions folder from the spring occasion catalog. I love how versitile this folder is, there aren't to many limitations to it!

I also used my favorite scallop trim boarder punch, which you can get for FREE with a $50.00 stampin up order. Free is good!

fun with circle punches

If you know me, you know that I LOVE using my punches. I think they are a quick, affective way to put a card together in a snap. Todays card was a thank you card for a dear friend of mine. She stopped by my house the other day and brought my a Dunkin Donuts carmel latte just the way I like it, for absolutely no reason. Those are the best kind of friends, they know you through and through and know how to make your day with a simple little thing like a carmel latte!
So I wanted to make her a card and didn't have much time, so out come my circle punches! It's a very simple card, but gets the point across, just fine.

I used a simple base of whisper white, and then added taken with teal. For the circles I used different scraps of paper from my welcome neighbor designer paper pack (free with a $50.00 order). I also used the whimsical words sale-a-bration stamp set, right in the center of the card. I love the fact that this sentiment fits right inside my 11/4 circle punch, LOVE THIS!

The next picture is a close up so you can see that only the sentiment circle is popped up on dimensionals.

Angela's helpful hints:

-circle punches used; 13/4, 11/4, 13/8 & 1 inch circle punches

-When using punches use up your scraps of paper first, it doesn't take much paper to use our punches

-If a sentiment is the focal image of your card, pop it up on dimensionals so it really does seem like the focal point.

Migrain yesterday - back today!

I had all intentions of posting here yesterday, but I had a very bad migrain and I had 2 sessions of club yesterday, so I knew something had to give so that I could be on top of my game for my club members. So unfortunately no posting to my blog happened yesterday. But I'm much better today, the headache is gone, but I still have what I call "migrain hangover".
Anyway enough about that, onto the goods!
We had stamp club yesterday and it was so much fun! We had a great time and made 2 really fun cards. One you already saw the other day (the one with the birthday presents) where they learned 3 fun easy techniques. The other one they learned 2 really fun techniques. I actually got the idea for this card from a website designed only for stampin up demonstrators, it's kind of like facebook but ALL STAMPIN UP can you imagine! Just another great reason to become a demonstrator! I unfortunately don't have a link to a website where you can see her work. I'm not even sure if she has one, but I can tell you that her name is Angela Dell'Erba.
I changed the card a little bit to suit my needs but the idea is still the same.
I think the club ladies loved this card, they where all ooohing and ahhhing over this one.

We used the sale-a-bration punch scallop trim boarder punch (free with a $50.00 order) as well as whimsical words also a sale-a-bration product that can be earned with an order of $50.00!

Don't you just love those flowers?

We used rhinestone brads in the center of the flowes to give it that extra "pop".

Here's a close up of the flowers, can you see the beautiful shimmer on these babies? These things sparkle in real life! We used a mixture of rubbing alcohol and shimmer paint to get this beautiful affect!

Do you know how to make leaves without having to cut them out by hand? My club ladies learned Monday night exactly how to do that.

Maybe I'll do a tutorial later this week to show you how easy and fun it is to make these leaves.

Stamp Club project for Monday

As you can tell, from the lack of posts this week, I have not had much stamping time. The things I have had time to stamp I can't share with you yet. But I can share with you one of the projects that we will be doing at club on Monday.
On this card there are 3 different techniques that the ladies will be learning, but I won't be sharing the details today, because I want my club members to be able to learn them first! Just another perk of being a club member.
If you would like to join us Monday please let me know by Sunday and don't forget to bring your own adhesive. There is a $5.00 non member supply fee, which is waived with an order of $25.00 or more.

February Thank You's

Hi everyone, it's been a few days sense I posted last. I haven't had much time for stamping. Last night I had a demonstrator meeting, so I've been spending some time getting ready for that. I started my demonstrator business boot camp last night for my girlies and I'm pretty excited to see where this will take them in their business.

Today I'm going to share with you my thank you notes for this month. This is what I will be sending out to people who place orders with me. It's what I like to call a post card style. It's not a whole card, just a front, with my note written on the front. I wanted to make it kind of valentineish but not lovey dovey, so this is what I came up with. I got the idea from Becky over at inking idaho, one of my favorite blogs to visit.

I think these are super cute. I love the pixie pink with the black, it really pops. I used the i heart hearts set. I'm telling you, I'm really not a hearts type of person, but I like this set and I love that it's not just for valentines day! I used strips of designer paper from the welcome neighbor paper pack(FREE WITH A $50.00 ORDER). I also used the new heart pinking boarder punch in the mini catalog.

I think I'll add a set of these to my Etsy store later. Be sure to check them out over there.

Please be mine valentine

Sometimes I swear that I am stamping ADD. I'll start one project go onto the next and then start another one before I finish any of them. I just get all these ideas and I have to get them out, before I forget.
Todays sample is one that I started days ago and then just finished tonight.
It's a card that I like to call a "fun fold". I think I'll be doing a class on fun folds in March. If you're interested let me know.

Angela's helpful hints:

- Stampin UP packages their designer papers in a fool proof way, so if you use 2 designer papers from the same pack you know that they'll go together.

- Using your markers like I did on the saying is a great way to get more then one color on an image. Simple color with your markers directly onto your stamp and then stamp them on your cardstock.

- I also used my black marker to make faux stitched lines around my heart.

- As always using our punches is a quick effective way to get a card done in a hurry. Here I used the full heart punch, large oval and oval scallop punch.

Demonstrator class - pics

Wow it's been 2 days sense I posted, sorry about that. It's been crazy here. I do have good news to share. I finally have a car again! It's been about a month without a car and let me tell you, I am excited!
Today I'm going to show you pictures of some of the fabulous ladies in my group of demonstrators. Ok I'll probably show you another project too! So I lied to all of Tuesday, I said I wouldn't be doing any stamping yesterday, but I did get a lttle bit of stamping done. But I can't show it to you. Why you might ask? Well I've decided to enter Stampin Up's Artisan Award contest. This is a contest that Stampin UP holds once a year. They pick 10 winners who receive a $500.00 Stampin Up shopping spree, $500.00 cash and the prestige of being one of the top 10 creative demonstrators in the company. Will I win, probably not, there are tons of talented demonstrators out there, but I figured that if I don't try I'll never know. I can't show you the projects until the contest is over, which isn't until the end of April, but I do have to tell you that the project that I was working on yesterday, blew my mind that I came up with it all on my own and it's all started with something I was going to throw away.
Ok, I've been going on long enough, so here are todays pictures.

This first picture is of Mel sewing together her little felt bag with Joanne giving her moral support in the background.

The next picture is Laura and Kathy working very seriously on putting their sweet pea stitched flowers onto the front of their felt bags.

And then my camera battery died! So if you would like to join us at our next fun demo class, contact me about becoming a demonstrator.

Here is one of the projects they did the other night. I did this project weeks ago and then I went on the computer and saw someone who did one almost exactly the same. I think it's funny that 2 people can have almost the same idea. I'll have to find a link to her pic so you can see how similar they are.

We put a cello bag of valentines m&m's inside, but you could use it for gift cards, a little photo album, how about 10 tags and You could do a 10 reasons I love you gift.

Demonstrator class was so much fun!

Hi everyone, how is the weather where you are? We had the craziest weather yesterday, it rained, I guess I should say it Poured. Where we live, it should have been snow. But now we have huge lakes where we did have snow. Our back yard was one big lake and then last night it froze. It would be the perfect skating rink for the kiddos
So last night was my demonstrator class for my addicted to stamping friends (aka other demonstrators). We had a great time. We made 4 fun projects which i'll be sharing over the next few days.I'm glad I have these projects to share, because I'm not sure if I'll get to stamping today, we'll see, I'm pretty tired. I promised them that I would share this paticular project today, because by the end of the evening they where all tired and didn't get to finish this one. So I promised I would post pictures so they could finish it up at home.
This idea was not my own, I totally cased it from Diana Gibbs (crazy talented crafter extrodinare!) You can see her sample here. If I remember correctly I think that this project was showcased at Stampin Up's leadership confrence.
We made these home decor blocks. There is a different saying on each side of the blocks. These would make beautiful decor in your house all year round! I love decor that serves a purpose for more then one season. It means there is less to store and it's also more cost effective.
You'll have to forgive my pictures, they really do the project no justice!
Here is the one I would use for this season.

The way I took the picture, they all seem to be leaning, but I promise in real life they are not.

Just a little thanks!

Aren't these little tags just too cute! I used my 1 1/4, 1 3/8 and my circle scallop punches to make these super quick tags. These are the tags that I put on my stamp club ladies bags this month. I wrote a personal note on the back of each one.

These would be super cute attached to one of our clear celophane bags filled with candy, or a spa set or something like that.

Color combination: Perfect plum, pale plum, certinately celery, whisper white and razzleberry ink

Angela's helpful hints:

- using our punches is a quick and affective way to get any project done in a snap.

- Making 1 tag? You mine as well make a bunch while you have your supplies out. That way the next time you need one in a pinch it's already done.

I've been trying to spread out my good neighbor stamp set posts, I didn't want to bore you with the same stamp set all week, so today I will be showing another sample with this really fun set. I've used the same color combination of tempting turquoise, old olive, pumpkin pie and whisper white. It's such a fun combination. I also used some paper from the sweet pea designer pack. Have I told you how huge this pack of paper is.

I love using my oval punches to nest inside of each other. It's the perfect mat and it's so quick!

Of course I popped up my house with dimensionals!

I made a matching tin to go with it. I think I'll feel it with peanut butter cups. Yum!

Angela's helpful hints:

- sticky strip is the adhesive to use when applying paper to any tin. Once you put on the sticky strip, that paper isn't going anywhere!

-Our oval punches are perfect for layering.

Close to Nature - Happy Easter

How are you today? The card I'm going to show you today was so difficult for me for some reason. I'm not really sure why, but I got it done so that's all that matters.
I used one of my favorite color combos and my circle sissors plus tool. I love this circle cutter it's the best. You can make circles of any size up to 6 inches, you can make rings with it and if you take out the cutting blade you can stick in a pencil, pen or marker and draw circles onto anything you want to. It really is a cool tool!

I've had this close to nature stamp set for over a year and this is the first time I've played with it. How pathetic is that!

I used my circle scallop die for the big shot and then used my crop a dile to add the lacy holes to the scallops to give it a different look.

I used my circle scissors plus to make the different sized circle mats for the flower image and the happy easter image.

I used one of the rhinestone brads on the happy easter saying to give it an extra special touch. Plus I love anything shiny or blingy (is that even a word?).

Angela's helpful hints:

- I used the grass stamp and added it to my pale plum background cardstock to give the card a cohesive look.

-Using your Stampin Up markers on your stamp is a great way to add more then one color to your image. (always start with your lightest color first and work your way to your darkest marker so you don't ruin the lighter markers.

-You're crop-a-dile isn't just for punching holes to add brads and grommets to your projects. Use it to add a decorative touch to your projects as I did here with the scallop circle die.

-Tape all you'r circle layers together and then run them through your paper trimmer so that you get an even cut like I did on the left side of my main circle image.

-Square cards are a lot of fun! Stampin up sells envelopes for this size square card. To make this card you will need a 51/4 by 10 1/2 piece of cardstock.

- sponging the outside edged of the main image, really soften the look of it. I started with pale plum and then sponged just the edges with perfect plum.

color combination: pale plum, perfect plum, cerinately celery, very vanilla

On a totally different note here is what I had planned to post today!
Today my card for you uses the same color combination as a few days ago on my good neighbor card, but it uses a different stamp set. It uses the fox & friends from the spring occasion catalog.
Isn't this orange polka dot paper just to die for! This is another piece of designer paper from the ginormous paper pack called sweet pea. There are so many options with this paper pack. Designs for girls, boys, men, women, anybody in your life! I kept the card simple with clean lines, the scallop boarder punch and a simple line of ornage ribbon. I used the get well wishes from teeny tiny wishes, but any sentiment would work with cutie patootie whale. I think this would make a great birthday card for a little boy. It would also make a perfect thinking of you card.

Here you can see a peek of the inside of the card. I used the scallop boarder punch on whisper white paper and then a simple strip of orange cardstock.

Angela's helpful hints
- To keep my card clean and modern, I only added a strip of ribbon instead of adding a knot or bow to it.
- Adding the scallop boarder punch to the main image, helps to incorporate the white scallop boarder into the card.
- Different size mats on the main image also help to keep the card clean and simple. Here I used 1/8 and 1/4 mats.

Nursery Baby Boy

Here is one of the cards you wil find in my etsy store. I really like the colors in this card. I like how bright it is, it's screams happy and cheerful! I stamped the boat onto scrap paper and cut out each little piece and used dimensionals to pop it up off the card. I also used the new saleabration scallop trim boarder punch. I LOVE THIS PUNCH and you can get it for FREE with a $50.00 Stampin Up order through me. I also used the perfect polka dot impressions folder with my big shot.

Do something crafty today.

Good Wensday morning to you!

Good happy wednesday morning to you. Wow I can't believe it's Wednesday already, where did the week go!
I already have Kayla's valentine gifts for her class mates done already!. I made them the other day during nap time. They came together so quickly I couldn't believe it. All I have to do is fill them with candy and Kayla will make her valentine cards herself. Hmmm maybe I"ll have her do that tonight. Wednesday nights is our long night without dad. He doesn't get home from school until 10:00 pm so keeping the girls busy in the evening helps to keep me sane when I have no adult conversation for that long of a time.
So without further ado here our Kayla's valentine bags.

I used the basket & blooms die and ran it through the big shot and sewed them together really quickly. I also used the hearts & brackets die and used the little heart and ran red felt through the big shot. (by the way you can run more then one layer of felt through the die at a time. For the hearts I did up to 6 layers and it cut through all the layers like butta. The longest part of the entire project was stitching the red hearts on. I used yarn and just did an x stitch through each heart.

Here is another version, I used the sweet pea stitched felt from the spring occasion catalog in place of the felt hearts.

Aren't these super cute! I used regular white thread and just did a few simple stitched by hand in the leaf and then used my crop-a-dile and punched a hole through the flower and the front of the bag and stuck a old olive brad through it and that's all that's holding the flower on.

Good Neighbor Houses

So I think that I have enough projects done, and pictures taken for the rest of the week, so even if I don't get much crafting time in with having the baby here I should still be able to update my blog. Plan ahead I always say!

Today I have a really super cute project for you. I used the new sale-a-bration stamp set good neighbors. I have to admit that when I first got this stamp set, I was scared of it. I think it's because it seemed like a lot of work, but I'm not really sure. So yesterday I brought it out and played with it and I have to tell you that I REALLY LOVE THIS SET. It's super cute, and great for a neighbor card, just moved card, welcome to the neighborhood, from our house to yours, friendship card, love card, thinking of you card or pretty much anything. The options are vast. I think that at first I got stuck because it was houses but seriously I can't put it down. So needless to say, you'll probably see more then one post this week using this super duper cute set. I also used the welcome neighbor designer paper pack that you can also earn during sale-a-bration for every $50.00 purchase. This paper pack is also super cute.

This card today is for my neighbor, at Christmas time she came over with a very nice basket of goodies for our family and it was so sweet of her. We don't really know each other well, but my goal for this year is to reach out more to my neighbors. So I'm going to give her this card as a thank you as well as the candy holder (wait till I tell you what I used to make this). I will also make her a pack of thank you cards as a gift (haven't gotten that far yet though).

You can tell in this side view that some of the clouds and the houses are popped up on dimensionals. I love dimensionals!

Here is a peek at what the inside of my card looks like.

So I made a matching candy holder out of something I was going to throw away. Can you tell what it is?

It's the packaging that paper clips came in. How cool is that. I think it will hold ghiradellies perfectly. I have 4 jolly ranchers in there right now, because thats all I had at the time.

Here is a close up of the candy package. Look closely do you see the bushes on each side of the house. That was my 5 year old daughters idea. She was sitting with me while I was stamping and she says to me, "mommy, your clouds look like they could be bushes." I thought to my self, how brilliant! So I gave it a try and she approved. So don't be afraid to use your clouds as bushes!

-before you throw away packaging, think about what you could use it for.
-Love the grass, cut a strip of your favorite color green and cut down about half way with your paper snips all the way across your strip of cardstock. The grass was fun to make, it made me think back to when I was a kid, we used to do this all the time in school.
-To give your card an extra special touch, decorate the inside of the card too!
-Use those clouds as bushes, go ahead I dare you!

Baby Shower Pics

Back in the fall I threw a baby shower for one of my friends and I forgot to show pictures here. You did get to see the baby shower invitation back in October, I just couldn't tell you that's what it was, because the shower was a surprise.

So I thought I'd show you some pictures of the shower.

Here is the picture of the photo album I put together for the mom to be. I used one of Stampin Up's 12x12 photo albums and used the decor elements baby words and applied them to the photo albumn. This was a lot of work, due to the fact that the album is soft surface, but I got it on there

I had 2 craft tables set up, where everybody had the chance to make a 2 page layout for the mom to be and I gave them matching SU markers to write on the back of the layout some words of advice for the mom.

Here is a close up of one of the craft tables, you can see that I had a bunch of dies cuts already cut up and ready to go, to make it easier for all of them. It was a lot of fun and I think everybody had a good time.

Here is a picture of the centerpieces on all the tables. They are onesies that are supposed to look like a boquet of flowers, how cool is that! They where a lot of fun to make and I love the way they came out. I got this idea from a friend who got one of these for a baby shower and I said to my self, I bet I could make those, so I did.

I thought I took a better picture of the party favors, but I can't seem to find it. So you can kind of see what they looked like in this picture. These are little boxes that me and the grandmother to be put together. They hold 4 ghiridelli squares (probably not spelled right).

Here are the cupcake holders, I wasn't quite sure what to do with these, so I just wrapped them in chocolate chip satin ribbon and then punched out butterflies with my big shot and strung them down the middle of the cupcake holder with fishing line, so it looked like they where hanging in mid air.

So there is my take on a baby shower on Stampin Up steroids! I hope you enjoyed my tour of what you can do with you're Stampin Up prodcuts.

We used the butterfly die to etch the glass to make a designer candle holder.

I've taken the plunge and baby girl card

I've done it, I've taken the plunge. I opened up an etsy store. You can see it on the right hand column of my blog. If you get this post by email, you would have to click over to my blog, by clicking on the title of the post. It took me 6 long years to finally decide that my cards where good enough to sell. So please go take a peek at the store, there are only a few things in it right now, but I'll add more as I go. If you know anybody who likes to buy handmade cards or anybody at all who you think would enjoy them, please feel free to send them over to the store. I would greatly appreciate it.

The other night, I stamped, stamped, stamped. It was great! This is one of the cards that I made. I think it's super cute and I love the scallop trim frame all the way around the elephant. It's a pretty tricky technique to figure out, but once you do it a couple times, it get's easier. If you're one of my customers and you purchase the boarder and corner punch from me, please see me for some training.

Angela's helpful hints:
-color combination: melon mambo, pretty in pink, whisper white, chocolate chip
-Need just a little something on you're card to give it that finished look try some brads!
-adding a strip of designer paper is a great way to add some "pop" to you're card.
-Stampin Up's melon mambo polka dot grosgrain ribbon is double sided. Use both sides when tying your not to get a great look.

Starting today I'm taking in a newborn 5 days a week so we will see how this all fairs with my blogging and crafting time. Really it's all about time mangement and that's one of my goals for the year, to get better at it so we'll see. Wish me luck.

Thoughts & Prayers makes great cards!

I just re-read my title and that sounds pretty funny if you don't know that Stampin UP has a stamp set called Thought's & Prayers. But anyway I've been a crafting busy bee lately. I'll steal 5 mins. here and 10 mins. there and get a card done. I've been finding that if I don't get to do a little bit of crafting every day, I just get plain grumpy. The cards I've been doing are really simple because I don't have tons of time to devote to stamping right now, but I am pleased with each and every one of them.
Today's card is so pretty, I used always artichoke, mellow moss, vanilla splashes of pretty in pink and it's a really nice color combination.

Angela's helpful hints:

-Using our markers on the tree image is an easy way to get multiple colors on you're image.

-The scallop trim boarder punch makes a delicate boarder and gives some added interest to you're card.

-Our taffetta ribbon is perfect for those more delicate project.

I've decided to open an etsy store. I'm working out all the details as we speak. For those of you who do not know what etsy is, it's an online website dedicated to selling handmade items. I've finally decided after 6 years that my cards are good enough to sell, so I'm going to give it a try. You will be able to find this card in my etsy store once I get it up and running. I would say that it will be up and running within the next week.

You're on my mind

Happy Monday folks! Wow is it bitterly cold up here in New England. I think we have finally received the cold air the rest of the country has had for a week now and frankly you can have it back, I don't want it!
Today I have a card that we are going to do at stamp club tonight. The technique is referred to as ghosting or shadowing. This card is not my personal creation, I totally cased it from this super talented lady! I've had it in my favorites for a while and knew I had to make this card. The only thing different about my card is the color. She used melon mambo I think and I used dusty durango. Tonight we will be using melon mambo only because I don't have enough of the dusty durango ribbon to go around. But really the beauty of this card is that it could be done in any color and would be utterly beautiful.

Today's sample is a card that I made for my husband. Yesterday was our anniversary so I whipped him up a card quickly yesterday before he came home from work. I did have to apologize to him because it was really "girly" but he did the right thing and told me that he liked it. It's a super simple card. It used one of our new punches called "small heart" punch. I also used the big shot to add texture to the card.

Angela's helpful hints:

-Using 3 of an item is more pleasing to the eye (just like the 3 hearts I used on this card)

-This small heart punch is only $5.95 so you will get a lot of bang for you're buck with this punch

-A texture plate was used on the pink cardstock, to give the card more interest.

-pop those hearts up on dimensionals and watch you're card really "pop".

-The saleabration scallop trim boarder was used on this card. Free is good and if you're going to spend $50.00 on products you mine as well get something for free!

Wow I'm addicted to this embossing folder it's so much fun. I started from a card sample in the spring mini occasion catalog and then went from there and made my own card. The card i'm talking about can be viewed on page 10 of the spring mini catalog.

I used the same colors from yesterday, because that's what was already out. And by the way all the butterflies came from scraps of paper I had left over from other projects. I love all the texture on these butterflies. I also used the scallop trim boarder that you can get for FREE during sale-a-bration just for placing an order of $50.00 or more. It's such a cute boarder, I absolutely love it. Here I used it with melon mambo, so that it would really "pop". I also used the perfect polka dots impressions folder to give the background that touch. I've really been enjoying doing some clean, simple cards lately. I love the way they look. I have a friend who's in need of some cheering up, so I thought I would make her up a bunch of cheery cards and give them to her to send out to people in her life. I figured bright colors would foot the bill perfectly, so you'll be seeing a lot of bright cheery cards in the next few days.

-pop up those butterflies on dimensionals to give your card a special look.

-using a 1/8 boarder instead of 1/4 inch boarder gives your card a sleek clean look. Give it a try!

-Teeny Tiny Wishes is the perfect greetings stamp set. The little words fit in the smallest places and complete you're card perfectly.

-Not a big fan of bright colors, or not sure how to use them? Try them in small pieces on you're card with a big neutral piece to get a great pop of color without over doing it.

-Our big shot Texture Impressions Folders is the perfect way to add extra interest to the card without over doing it.

beautiful wings and a promotion!

Happy snowy day to all of you who live in new england. Today I have a sample for you of a fun new embossing folder in the new spring mini catalog. The embossing folder is called beautiful wings and it really is beautifu. It cuts and embosses the butterflies all at the same time. The card I'm showing you is a regular size card, I wanted to show you just how small these butterflies are. I figured that it was time to use some bright colors, in hopes that it would hurry spring along, we'll see if it works. I love how there is so much texture on these butterflies.

If you look under the ribbon can you see the lines in the white cardstock? I used my paper trimmer and a bone folder and made the lines just like I was scoring something that we would usually fold on the score lines, but this time the score lines are just to give it added interest and dimension.
I used the happy birthday from teeny tiny wishes. I really think this is a must have stamp set. There is words for almost every occasion that you would need and the simple font goes with pretty much everything.

-Popping up your butterflies is an easy, quick, inexpensive way to add more interest and dimension to your card.
-Don't be afraid to use either side of the butterflies for a different textured look. The back side is as beautiful as the front.
-Use the extra butterflies left over as confetti on the inside of your card. So who ever opens the card will be in for an extra surprise!

Today I'm showing you the same card as yesterday only blinged up a bit. I wanted to show you how adding just a couple few accessories adds a finishing touch to your card. For this card the only changed I made was adding one of our new epoxy brads to the heart and adding texture to the pretty in pink part of the card by using our new embossing folder from the spring occassion catalog.

I hope that everybody had a fantastic holiday season and a happy new year!
Today I have something non Christmas to share with you. This is my oldest daughters birthday invitations for her party. These where a lot of fun to make. I think I got the inspiration for these from Cindy lawrence but I searched her blog and couldn't find them so maybe I was making that up.

Angela's helpful hints:

-The big shot die cutting machine, makes it easy and quick to cut out all different shapes. Here I used the circle scallop die to make the base of the card.

-The circle scissors plus is the best circle cutting tool ever! You can make coordinating sized circle for what ever size project you are working on.

-blender pens and your favorite color ink work great on shimmery white paper to color in your stamped images.

-Our 2 way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter gives the pony's hair that extra special touch.
