Where have I been?

Well let me tell you where I have been. My poor 3 year old got very sick with a flu. Her temperature was hovering around 104 for days she had all the symptoms of a flu and on top of it we took her to the doctors and found out that she had croup (don't know if that's how you spell it). She was sick for 2 weeks and is still coughing pretty bad and then this week I caught her flu and I was in bed for days. Good thing for moms. My mom took care of the girls all week. So I think I'm finally feeling better so look for a post soon.

Happy V-day! I thought that I would share the card that I made for my husband for v-day. I knew that I had to keep it clean simple lines and he's really not a red and pink kind of guy so this is my untraditional v-day card. I used blue bayou and soft sky on river rock cardstock. I then used one of our chipboard hearts and covered it with our new chunky glitter. In the bottom right corner I used our new rub-on's. I used a rub on that says You make me happy. Which my husband does make me happy, he is an incredible supporting husband. I then also added the heart rub on next to it. That's the great thing about rub ons, you can add and take away from them. If you only like part of a rub on then just use that part, if you want to use 2 rubs on together to get the look that I did, you can do that too!

Don't forget that you can get these rub-on's for free with a purchase of $50.00 during sale-a-bration which runs until March 17th. I have had a bunch of customers ask me lately, do I like the rub on's and do I use them. Well here is my answer, I LOVE RUB ON'S. I don't use many products that aren't SU but before Su carried rub on's I would purchase them else where because I just love rub on's. I don't know if it's just because it's really fun to watch it rub on to your paper or the versatility of them, but I can tell you that I am very excited that SU started carrying them. I love the fact that they coordinate perfectly with our stamp sets and designer papers. I love the fact that they are 12" in length that way I can use them on a 12x12 scrapbook page, and I have to tell you that these rub on's are a really great quality rub on. Can you tell that I'm excited about them.

This class is going to be so much fun! This kit is great to give to teachers, co-workers or to just keep for your self. Basically it's a kit of birthday cards for that occasion when you don't have time to make one, you'll have this stash already to go. We will be making 8 cards and envelopes and it will all fit into a pouch with a cute saying on the front. Come learn how to make these so you can repeat them and give them out as gifts.

I will also be offering this as a kit on the go to anybody who can't make it to the class.

Baby shower card

My best friend is pregnant and she is home from Italy for a week and a half so her sister (who is 8 months pregnant) through her a baby shower and this is the first boy in our group of friends, we have 7 girls and no boys so it was so fun to be able to go shopping for boy clothes for once. So I wanted to make her a special card and she's the type of person who likes modern clean lines so I knew that I wanted to incoorperate that into my card. So I pulled out my bashful blue and night of navy card stock and went from there. I was super excited to use one of the new stamps from our sale-a-bration set So Many Scallops which works perfectly with our circle scallop punch. So what I did was stamp the stamp 4 times. I stamped it in bashful blue ink, barely banana ink and night of navy ink on white cardstock and then stamped it again with night of navy ink on bashful blue cardstock. I punched out the bashful blue cardstock with our circle scallop punch and then I punched out the bashful blue ink on white card stock with our 13/8 circle punch. With my paper snips I cut out the barely banana moon and cut out the sweet one saying from the night of navy stamped image. I used stampin dimensionals to raise up the moon and the saying sweet one. And then on the moon I used, wait for it.....................
dazzling diamonds glitter with my two way glue pen. Having parts of the image raised up on the dimensionals makes it look like one of the expensive embellishments that you would buy at the store but I made it my self.

Here is a close up picture of the scallop circle so that you can see the moon and saying popped up. This card was a lot of fun to make. This card measures 3X6 when folded. It's a 6X6 piece of cardstock which is perfect to make out of a 12X12 piece of cardstock because you can get 4 out of one piece of card stock. The envelope was made to match the card. I used the 5in1 template from SU and made it in Bashful blue cardstock and then added a belly band to it in whisper white and night of navy and then added the same hand stamped embellishment on the front along with blue gingham ribbon which screams baby to me.


Here is a picture of the basket that I gave her with the card sitting in the front of it. Doesn't it go well with the basket. I also added ribbon to the handles of the basket in all different shades of blue and white just to give it that extra special touch. I really did have fun making this basket.

I've been busy - Girls Day Out

I've been very busy! We had stamp club on Monday and we has such a great time! They learned how to use acetate and white staz-on to do 2 different techniques. I've also been busy getting ready for this Sunday. The Greenfield YMCA is holding a Girls Day Out event, it will be held from 12:00 - 3:00 pm and it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. There is going to be a fashion show by one of the local clothing stores, there is going to be all sorts of different vendors (I'll be there come say hi to me!) and they are going to have all sorts of activities to join in on.
I'll be there promoting Stampin Up! and selling some of my hand made gifts, and that's what I've been busy doing. Here are a bunch of those coaster boxes filled with m&ms, yummy chocolates and hot cocoa. This is the perfect gift for somebody who loves chocolate.


I also made a BUNCH of these jumbo paperclip bookmarks. Don't they look like a bouquet of flowers in this pot. They are so colorful and springy, I love them.

And below you'll see of my cupid corn cones with matching tag, I thought these where adorable and would make the perfect gift for kids valentine's at school. They are in a heart basket but you can't tell with all of them in there. So if your local come on down Sunday and visit me, there will be a make&take using one of the new SAB sets and I'll have the tattoo kits out for the kids to try out. So bring your self, your kids, and your girlfriends and have a good time.

A girl and her bucket

Another scrapbook page today. I'm doing a vendor fair on January 27th and I am trying to do a few scrapbook pages to show to people. Plus I haven't scrapbooked in months and I love to do it, so this is my page for today while the girls napped. This was a sketch challenge over at SCS I think it was sketch 105. I was looking for a sketch that would be good for 3 pictures and I happened across this sketch and thought it was perfect. On this page I used our new Bali Breeze designer paper, it's bright and so much fun and matched perfectly with Kayla's dress, how cool is that! I also used our fire square rhinestone brads (LOVE THEM) they add such a great touch to anything. I crammed all my journaling into the top right corner. My goal this year is to do more journaling on my pages, I'm really bad at that part so maybe if I scrapbook the pictures quicker, I'll actually remember what they are about and be able to do more journaling. If you click on the picture it will make it much larger and you'll be able to see all detail on the page.

New SU products and a Scrapbook page

Ok here's a funny story for you. The other day I was expecting an order from SU. The new Sale-a-bration sets so I was waiting for the UPS guy to come. He always arrives while the girls are napping. So I hear him pull in to my drive way and I was really excited because I wanted to play with my new sets. Well the phone rings and it's my nephew asking some questions about a car that one of my friends is trying to sell, so I wasn't paying any attention to the ups guy (he just leaves my packages on my breezeway). Well I get off the phone and open the door and see this. (picture to the left). Holy cow! Now that's a great sight. I was expecting a order the following day with new stuff from the catalog and to my pleasant surprise it arrived a day early so needless to say I had a fun 2 hours while the girls napped.

So check out what came.

This is my new stuff from the catalog. Check it out, new designer paper, sticky cut letters that you can apply glitter to, the new glitter (of course), rub-on's, felt flowers, new stamp set and new ribbon.

Check out the new ribbon, I didn't even see it in the catalog until I was going through it again the other night. This is striped grosgrain ribbon, it comes in 4 colors. I just got the blue and red for now. Can't wait to try it out.

Here is a close up of the glitters. The smaller containers on the right are the fine glitter, just like our dazzling diamonds glitter and the glitter on the right is the chunky glitter. OOOH it looks like it's going to be so much fun to use.

Here is a close up of one of the Sale-a-bration sets, check this out. I was very surprised to see that they are all DIE CUT. Oh yeah, I put them together in matter of minutes. It makes sale-a-bration just that much better.

And here is a scrapbook page that I did last night and I have to say that I am very proud of this page, I'm very happy with how it came out. I used our kraft 12x12 card stock with purely pomegranate classic ink and our white craft ink. I used our coluzzle cutting system to make the circles in the middle of the page. I used one of the new sale-a-bration stamp sets called Friendship Blooms for the flowers and swirls on the page and then did the title with my big deal alphabet. You can't really see it in the picture but I took my signo white gel pen and made dots in the A and the O and around the I in the title and then carried the same dots around the pomegranate circles. I again used our white craft ink to smudge around the boarder of the scrapbook page and around the edges of the pictures to give it a softer look. This page was about the first day that Kayla tried to tie her shoes it was so cute and she was so proud of her self.

Stamp Club card

So club was supposed to meet tonight but because of the weather I canceled it and postponed it until next Monday January 21st. This is one of the cards that they will be making. I usually wait until the night of club to post the projects that they do, but I just couldn't wait any longer, so here is one of the cards.
Isn't this a great card? It's really difficult to photograph, but if you saw it in person, you would really like it. I took a clear piece of acetate (also known as overhead projector sheets) and used white staz-on to stamp on it. Regular ink would not stay on acetate. Stamped my little swirls and then stamped my main image on whisper white card stock and then cut all the other layers to size. The swirls on the main image have dazzling diamonds glitter on them, surprise, surprise!

Supplies: Priceless stamp set, whisper white card stock, perfect plum card stock, pale plum card stock, certainly celery card stock. Perfect plum classic ink, pale plum classic ink, white staz-on ink, mini glue dots.

Valentine's Day stamp class

So here is what we will be making at our Valentine's day stamp class on January 25th. I'm so excited, how much fun does this look like. I'm calling it my Chocolate lovers gift box. At the class we will be making the box, the tin with the wrapped chocolates, the cone filled with hot cocoa and the tin with the m&m's in it. The class will be from 6:00-9:00pm. The class fee is $25.00. You can choose from the ginger blossom designer paper (which is what I used in the sample) or our berry bliss designer paper. Registration and payment is due by January 17th to reserve your space. Spaces are limited so reserve your spot early.

Here is a close up of all the items that we will be making. See how the tin with the m&m's is decorated with paper around the outside and then stamped on the lid. The hot cocoa cone is stamped with a beautiful swirl stamp, and the tin with the wrapped chocolates is finished off with the same heart as the one on the m&m tin.

The New Catalog is Here and other ramblings

Ok I know that I haven't been around lately, but with a new baby, Christmas and my daughters 3rd birthday all within a month of each other, I've been a little busy. I have a fabulous order of new stamps that have been sitting here for over 2 weeks and I can't use them because I can't find my scissors to cut them out with. This is killing me.
But on a really good note, THE CATALOG IS HERE, check it out, I think it is so wonderful and can't wait to place my first order.
Well I promise to post soon. Once I get the chance to stamp. I'm in the middle of typing my Stampin Up Customer newsletter and I'm almost done with that and then tomorrow during the girls nap I will be making some business phone calls and then hopefully I'll have some time left over to stamp.
