Pink Petals

It's a cloudy dark rainy day here in Ma, what better to do than to stamp! Right now I am loving pink and black together, I've been on this kick sense January when I held a workshop for a group of Mary Kay ladies. I made my own designer paper again (this is so much fun to do). I used the polka dots and petals stamp set in 3 colors to accomplish the look of designer paper. I used pretty in pink, cameo coral and basic black and I randomly stamped them all over the paper until I was pleased with the look of it. To give it a little added touch I tore the bottom edge of the paper. I layered cameo coral and basic black card stock under the "designer paper". I then stamped the big flower from the office Accoutrement set in cameo coral. I cut it out and then layered it on basic black card stock and cut that out as well and to finish off the flower I just added a silver brad in the middle. The bottom 1/3 of the card is rolled with the petals jumbo wheel which matched the stamp set. I stamped it in pretty in pink ink on the pretty in pink card stock to give it a tone on tone effect. Lastly I added the word congratulations in basic black ink. I thought that a nice spring card would be good on such a dreary day.
Enjoy and happy stampin!

Cute as a Bug - Scrapbook page

Another scrapbook page today. I had this great picture of Kayla holding a caterpillar and there is a cute story behind it so I really wanted to scrapbook it while I can still remember the story. I wanted to incorporate the color of her jacket into the page so I chose to use Pumpkin Pie and I really like the way it looks with vintage violet so that's how I chose my colors. The page is a 12x12 page the base is whisper white. See the caterpillars at the bottom of the page aren't they so cute. I used my 1/2 inch Stampin Up! circle punch and one of the flowers from the spring bouquet flower punch to make the feet and antennas. Yup it's that easy. For the vintage violet paper I took a regular 81/2 x 11 piece of card stock and flipped it sideways. I used the Rough Texture jumbo wheel to give the paper a little bit of oomph. For the title I used the Typeset Alphabet (lower case), also I used our new spiral punch to make the paper look like it was torn out of a notebook. I used a small piece of our vintage violet stitched grosgrain ribbon on one of the square clips from our hodgepodge hardware set. You can see that I tied in the pumpkin pie and vintage violet by using it in the title and on the caterpillars. Behind the orange card stock is a hidden picture, a close up of Kayla's hand with the caterpillar in it. You can see the close to cocoa tab on the top that says pull. Behind the main picture is my hidden journal, where I wrote the cute story of Kayla and her caterpillar.
Enjoy and Happy Stampin!
