Big Shot Class Sample

This morning the sky was blue and the sun was shining, now it's cloudy already, what's up with that? Today I"m going to show you one of the projects that we are going to be doing at my next Big Shot class on Thursday July 9th. This card is super cute and I loved being able to use the new designer papers and In-Colors. Of course I did have to add glitter to the cupcake. I got the idea from this card here. You will have to be logged in to SCS to see it. I changed it up a little bit to make it a normal sized card. Can you see the polka dots on the white cardstock? Aren't the polka dots just so cute! Speaking of polka dots, how about that new In-color polka dot ribbon, doesn't it just add a cute touch to the card. If you want this ribbon and the rest of the In-color products then why not join the In-Color club and get some free hostess benefits out of it too!

If you want to make this and 3 other really cute projects then join me on July 9th at 6:30 pm. Please register by: July 6th. Only 3 spots left for this class.
Have a fantastic day and happy stampin!

Got Stencils?

Did you know that Stampin UP! has stencils? They are in the Decor Elements catalog. Now I have to be honest with you, I'm not really a stencil on the wall type person but after seeing what else you could do with these stencils I HAD TO HAVE THEM! You know how that goes right, you think you really don't need something until you see it used in a really special way right? Well when I went to Spring Fling back in May, they has an entire display of things you can do with the stencils. I've seen them used in so many different ways that my head is spinning and I can't wait to show you how much fun they really are. Tonight I have a scrapbook page that I did using the stencils. This came right off of the Stampin Up website (another great reason to be a demonstrator, you get all these extra ideas from the website). I changed up the colors of the scrapbook page and changed it just a little bit. I really like how it turned out. I was going to paint the chipboard pink and clear emboss it, but I decided that I really liked it just the way it was. It stands out much better this way then if it was pink. I also used the new melon mambo polka dot grosgrain ribbon. LOVE THIS STUFF!I can't wait to show you all the other ideas I have for using these stencils! I might just have to do a class on them.
Have a fantastic day and happy stampin!
Remember only a few more days to order from the last chance lists!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a In-Color club announcement tomorrow!

FRIEND - New challenge

It's a rainy day here again! But luckily I have some pictures taken already so they shouldn't be to dark. How did this weeks challenge go for everybody? It was to take a sample from the catalog and change it up a bit.

This weeks challenge:

Use something that is retiring! It can be a stamp set or a retiring accessorie.

You have until next Thursday to complete the challenge. Anybody who sends me a picture of their project will get it posted here on my blog.

On to today's card. I used the stamp set simple friendship. I really like this set! It's easy to use the stamps go nicely together. I used taken with teal, old olive, chocolate chip and whisper white. Not a color combo I would put together on my own, but I saw it on a card somewhere and I thought it just "popped". You probably can't see it but the chocolate chip paper is our textured paper which really does make a difference in the look of the card. I used the photo corner punch and paper pierced it. On the main image the "friend" was inked up with the taken with teal marker and old olive markers.
Got to love the markers! If you don't have the markers yet, then the marker club might be right for you. It breaks down the payment of the markers over 4 months. At the end of the 4 months you would get an entire set of markers with the case as well as a package of each of the 4 color families of assorted cardstock as well as a package of whisper white cardstock. To join a marker club call me at 413-863-3166 or e-mail me at c_riddell@comcast.net .

Stamp Club Update
I only have a couple spots left for the next club. I'm hoping to start in July. If you are interested in joining stamp club call or email me asap to save your spot and learn about all the details.

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Meet Carol

This is carol. She is one of my Stampin Up customers and a great friend. Back in May we went to a spring fling event near where we live. It was open to Stampin up demos and their customers. They had given us the challenge to make a name tag and that their would be a prize given to the best name tag. Well when Carol showed up at my house in the morning to leave for Spring Fling she showed me her name tag and I knew that she would be the one to win the contest. It is just so beautiful, she really did a good job on it. At lunch time they had everybody take off their name tags and put them on a desk for judging and we all voted for the one that we thought was best. Guess who won! That's right CAROL and she really did deserve to win! She won a package of hodgepodge hardware, which is really funny because earlier in the day she had said to me, "I'm going to win that prize" and pointed to the hodge podge hardware. She didn't know that was the prize for the name tag contest and she was so excited when she actually won it. Spring Fling was a very fun day filled with great friends, fun and projects. Hopefully next time more of you will be able to join us.

That's all for a rainy Sunday morning. I might be back later with some details on an upcoming class.
Have a great day and happy stampin!

5 sneak peeks in 1 card - Hostess Bonus Bucks

EXTRA HOSTESS BUCKS: It's not to late to earn your extra hostess dollars! During the month of June any hostess whose party totals $250.00 - $399.99 will receive an extra $20.00 in products and any hostess whose party is $400.00 or more will receive an extra $40.00 in free products. There is still time to book your own party for June to take advantage of this great promotion.

As a Stampin Up demonstrator we are given a chance to pre-order a few choice products from the new catalog and today's sample uses 5 different sneak peek products. Can you guess all the items? Alright I won't really make you guess. I used 2 of the new in-colors, crushed curry and razzleberry. I also used one of the new designer papers a new punch and a new ribbon that matches with the in-color crushed curry. The 2nd picture is what the inside of the card looks like. Someone the other night at the "manly" card class was asking me what I do with the inside. I said that most of the time I just write in the card the way it is, but sometimes I do this to the inside. This card uses the stamp set simple friendship, which I love. It's a really easy stamp set to use.

Alright everybody it's supposed to be a fantastic day here so get out there and enjoy this nice weather.
Have a great day and happy stampin!

projects from "manly" card class & Challenge Time

Helllllooooo! Wow it's been 10 days since I posted last, sorry about that. It has been a very busy week and a half. I had 3 workshops, 1 club a downline meeting and a "manly" card class so I've been going non stop.

Today I have pictures to share from the "manly" card class last night. We had such a great time. Thank you ladies for coming and making my night!

We made 10 cards last night. We did 2 each of 5 designs, that way they can keep one for an example and send the other one out if they want to! Coming up with "man" cards can be more difficult. I did give them a few tips last night and you'll see those tips incorporated into the samples. A great place to start with "men" cards is colors, you want to use any shades of blues, greens, kraft cardstock or even red's or burgundy colors. Another great tip is to keep the cards simple with clean lines. No frilly stuff of course. Squares and rectangles work great for "man" cards. A couple of these cards I took right out of the catalog. I love the catalog it's so great for getting ideas. If you ever get stuck, just stroll through the catalog and you'll get some great ideas for layouts, color combos or even an entire card. Give it a try!

These first 2 cards are fantastic! The one on the left is straight out of the catalog, you can view it on page 134. I just changed it up with starts instead of a chipboard letter and changed the saying. I also changed out the buttons for brads. What you probably can't see in the picture is that the star is popped up on dimensionals which gives it an extra little touch and we also paper pierced the not quite navy piece of cardstock. The second card I came up with on my own, again very clean and modern. This would make a perfect Father's day card for anybody who works in corporate America. Doesn't that Manchester paper work perfectly on this card?

The next 2 cards are also a lot of fun. The one on the left was again taken right out of the catalog from page 47. I just changed the image and we used a jumbo brad instead of the corduroy button. The card on the right came straight from SCS if you go over to the lovely as a tree gallery you will see many cards that look just like this. The only thing I did was change the color combo and use a different ribbon. This last card is so neat we used the gable card technique where the card meets in the middle in the front. The cabin is cut out and actually popped up on the kraft paper. The part that I like the most is the inside of the card, which you can see in the 2nd photo. I took the idea from this card here and changed it a little to better fit mine and my customers needs.I do have 2 more "kits" available so anybody who didn't get to make it but would like to make these cards can buy a kit for $20.00 plus $4.95 shipping(if your local and can pick up, then waive the shipping fee).
Or you can buy the cards all done for $25.00 plus $4.95 shipping. That's 10 cards, 2 each of the 5 designs for $25.00.

You can e-mail me at c_riddell@comcast.net or call me at 413-863-3166 to purchase your kit. Remember there are only 2 kits left.

Challenge Time:
Take a card from the catalog and use it for inspiration to make your own card or scrapbook page. You have until Thursday June 18th to complete this challenge. E-mail me a picture of your card and let me know what card in the catalog you used for inspiration! Need some dimensionals? One lucky winner will receive a package of stampin dimensionals. So get to work and e-mail pictures of your projects to get your self entered into the drawing for the dimensionals.

That's it for today. Have a great day and happy stampin!
