Back from vacation!

Ok so I'm back from vacation, for those of you who don't know, we went up to Bar Harbor Maine one of the most beautiful places ever, in my humble opinion. The weather was perfect all week. Ok maybe a little hot but nothing a pool didn't take care of.

I've been busy stamping for the past 2 days but I can't share any of it with you because it's for my Hostess Appreciation day which is this coming Saturday and I want the ladies who are coming to be surprised! So I guess I better go do some stamping that you can look at.

Have you heard about SU's promotion for August? August 1-31st buy the Three For You punch box on page 183 of the catalog for $45.95 plus s&h and tax and receive a free package of exclusive love notes (12.95 value). You will receive 30 3X3 love notes 10 each of wild wasabi, purely pomegranate and So saffron with 30 very vanilla envelops. What a great way to make up a quick hello card or thinking of you card. The Three For You punch box comes with the Trio Flower Punch, 9 piece die-cut stamp set, and basic black, purely pomegranate, and wild wasabi classic stampin spots. What a great deal!

Have a great day and happy stampin!

Glamour Girl

So I had the opportunity to do a scrapbook layout the other day and it was great. I don't get to scrapbook as often as I would like to. So I picked the pictures that I wanted to scrapbook and went from there. Over on SCS I looked under 12X12 layouts and found one that I really liked and would work well with my pictures so I used the layout from Onita76. Edited to add that you must be a member of SCS to view her great layout. In the pictures Kayla is wearing to shades of purple and they just happen to match perfectly with 2 SU colors Lavender Lace from the soft subtles color family and Elegant Eggplant from the rich regals color family. I used the stamp set Polka dots and petals to make my own scrapbook paper, I didn't have any that matched so what's better than making your own? As you can see I added a few pieces of the chipboard from the Blossoms & Basics chipboard package. For 2 of the chipboard pieces I stamped directly on them using the elegant eggplant ink and on the third piece I applied white Craft ink to the chipboard and then I heat set it with my embossing gun because I'm to impatient to wait for it to dry. I then applied another layer of the white craft ink and then I sprinkled dazzling diamond glitter (that I dyed my self to match the eggplant color) while the craft ink was still wet. I then heat set that and applied versamark and a layer of glassy glaze embossing powder to give it a shiny look. I then added eggplant and white ribbon in various places. I still have to add the title which will be GLAMOUR GIRL on the top left page and I will add my journaling to the white paper on the right page.
So here is a close up of the left and right pages as well as a close up of the chipboard flowers.
I hope that you have a great day and happy stampin!

Take your stamps to the Wall- FALL ART CLASS

At the end of August I am holding my 2nd "Take your stamps to the walls" class, this one will be a fall piece. This is the framed art that we will be doing. Sorry for the glare, it's really hard to take a picture of glass and not get a glare, if I was thinking properly (pregnant brain) I probably would have taken the glass out to shoot the picture. This framed art piece uses the SU stamp set Give Thanks, which is a great set for watercoloring, which is what we will be doing in the class. Fall is my favorite time of year and I love decorating for fall so I figured why not make my own decoration. The class will be held Friday August 31st from 6:30-8:30pm, class fee is $15.00 and RSVP and class fee are due no later than August 20th. I only have 3 more spaces left so if this is class you are interested in, get your RSVP to me asap! This photo shows the images just a bit closer to see a little more detail. Happy Stampin and enjoy this beautiful day!

On a more personal note we went to the DR.'s last week and they think that we are having another girl! The baby is very active which is good and I'm still feeling great which is great because with my last pregnancy I was on bed rest for almost 4 full months. Have a great day!

This is one of the cards that the stamp club did tonight. We used the Baroque Motifs stamp set. For colors we used some of the new In Colors for this year, Groovy Guava as the base of the card, layered Purely Pomegranate on top of that and then layered with very vanilla. The technique that they learned tonight is called Rock n' Roll, it's a fun easy way to get more than one color on a stamp and it gives it more of a dimensional look. In the center of the flower image we used one of the new rhinestone brads to give the card just a touch of bling.
Have a great day and Happy stampin!

Baroque Motifs again

This was my mom's birthday card yesterday. I'm really enjoying this stamp set, it could be used for almost any occasion and it's so easy to work with. I stamped the scroll with purely pomegranate ink in the center of the card and then stamped just a little on the two corners just to give it a more fluid look. Using the small flower stamp, I stamped it in groovy guava (one of the six new IN LINE colors) and then did a technique called rock and roll to get the darker pomegranate color (also one of the new IN LINE colors) around the edges. I punched them out with the 3/4 circle punch and stamped the Birthday greeting with our white craft stamp pad. That's it, no more no less. If you want to see the new catalog hop on over to my website www.angelariddell.stampinup.net and click on on-line catalog. I promise you won't be dissapointed. Have a great day and Happy Stampin!

Happy Anniversary

So the new catalog is here today finally and I am so excited. Just when I thought that I have enough supplies they bring out a new catalog full of really yummy stamps, scrapbook kits and accessories.

Today is my parents anniversary and my mom's birthday, this is there anniversary card. I used the new stamp set baroque motifs. This stamp set is so fun and easy to use. I used brocade blue for the base of the card. The swirls are done in Night of Navy ink, the small flowers where inked in Night of Navy and then stamped off onto scrap paper and then stamped onto my card to give it a lighter effect. The word Cherish is embossed with clear embossing powder, just to give the card a little bit of shine.

Here is a scrapbook page that i did at a workshop the other night. I wanted to show how fun and easy it is to add stamping to your scrapbooks. I used the Bold Butterfly stamp set and stamped the 3 butterflies, I then cut them out to use them as embellishments on the page. I used the flitting by jumbo wheel to make the boarder at the bottom. To make the jumbo scalloped edge at the bottom I used our 11/4 circle punch and punched out 9 circles, I taped them down on the page and then placed the butterfly boarder over them half way to accomplish the scalloped edge. I matted the pictures and journaling, added 2 more circles under the big picture and used them to journal the date. Lastly I stamped the words I DO using our Letterpress alphabet. Just a quick simple page to add to the scrapbook.
Supplies used: Bold Butterfly stamp set(retired), Flitting by jumbo wheel (retired), Letter press alphabet set,Lovely lilac, mellow moss, very vanilla cardstock, lovely lilac classic ink pad, White craft ink pad, 1 1/4 circle punch.
Have a great day and happy stampin!
